Overview

Sanatan is a reference website for Hindu calendar, festival, scriptural and astrological information. It is designed to work without an account and without handing over your personal details. This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website actually processes and stores, and the choices you have.

We do not sell personal information and we do not build advertising profiles of you. If you submit the support form, the details you type are handled by the form provider as described in the Third-Party Services section below.

Information You Provide

The only place you are asked to provide personal details on this website is the Support/Contact form, which is hosted by a third-party provider (see Third-Party Services). If you choose to use it, the provider receives whatever you enter — typically your name, email address and message — and may hold it in line with its own privacy policy.

The horoscope "find your sign" tool asks for a birth date, but the calculation happens entirely in your browser. Your birth date is never sent to our server.

Information We Store on Your Device

To work offline and to remember small preferences, this website stores a little data directly in your browser (Local Storage and the browser's Cache Storage). It never leaves your device:

This data is not sent to us and we have no way to read it. You can clear it at any time with your browser's "clear site data" option or by removing this site's data.

• Theme preference (light/dark) — stored so the site opens in the look you chose.
• Your favorites list — the ★ items you save are kept on your device only.
• Offline cache — recently visited pages and content are cached by the service worker so the site keeps working without an internet connection.

Information Sent to the Server

Every request to a website carries a small amount of technical data. On this website that is limited to:

• Search queries — when you type in the search box, the text is sent to our server so we can return matching content. Queries are used only to answer that request; we do not log or store your search history.
• Standard technical request data — such as your IP address, browser type, device and pages visited. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes this in its server/access logs to deliver pages and keep the service secure. We do not use it to identify or profile you.

Cookies

This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The small amount of browser storage described above uses Local Storage, not cookies.

Third-Party Services

This website works with the following third parties:

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy, and your use of them is subject to those policies.

• Hosting provider (Vercel) — serves the site and keeps standard server logs. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Support form provider — the embedded support form is provided by a third-party service configured through an environment variable. Whatever you submit goes to that provider under its own privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — fonts are downloaded once at build time and served from this site; no runtime connection is made to Google.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Advertising is currently disabled and no ad code is loaded. If advertising is enabled in the future, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and Google's own privacy policy would apply to that processing. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ads Settings.

Data Security

The site is served over HTTPS, which encrypts data in transit. Because this website stores almost nothing about you, there is very little personal data to protect. Still, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Data stored on your device stays there until you clear it. Search queries and other requests are not retained by us. Any details you submit through the third-party support form are retained by that provider for as long as it needs them to process your request, under its own retention policy.

Children's Privacy

This website is a general-audience reference site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal information at all, there is no child-specific data to handle. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a third-party form, please contact us via the Support page.

Your Choices and Rights

Because we do not hold personal data about you on our servers, there is little to request, access or delete. You can always clear this site's stored data through your browser, adjust or remove your favorites in the site, and choose not to use the search box or support form.
