Amalaki Ekadashi
18 March 20274 Chaitra 1433 BangabdaShukla Paksha
Falls on the bright eleventh of Phalguna. According to the Puranas, the amalaki (amla/Indian gooseberry) tree is an abode of Vishnu himself — on this day worship is offered to the amalaki tree, and feeding Brahmins and chanting while seated beneath it is prescribed. Observing this vrata is believed to destroy sins, increase longevity and merit, and ultimately bestow liberation.
