Devutthana Ekadashi

Falls on the bright eleventh of Kartik, also known as 'Prabodhini Ekadashi'. Vishnu, who has been in the yoga-sleep of Chaturmasya since Devshayani Ekadashi, awakens on this day — hence auspicious activities (especially weddings) resume from this day. The awakening-worship of Vishnu and the service of one's parents on this day are described as especially meritorious.
