Mokshada (Vaikuntha) Ekadashi

Falls on the bright eleventh of Margashirsha/Poush. The doors of Vaikuntha are believed to remain open on this day, and tradition holds that it was on this very Ekadashi that Krishna delivered the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. This vrata is observed especially for the liberation of one's ancestors.
