Papankusha Ekadashi

Falls on the bright eleventh of Ashwin. 'Papankusha' means the goad (ankusha) that controls sin — this Ekadashi is believed to curb and destroy sins, hence the name. According to the Puranas, observing this vrata grants merit equal to the Ashwamedha yajna and removes all obstacles and adversities.
