Saphala Ekadashi

Falls on the dark eleventh of Pausha. According to the Puranas, even the unrighteous merchant's son Lumbaka attained a kingdom and liberation by observing this vrata — hence the name 'Saphala' (bearing fruitful results). Observing it is believed to bring success to all one's endeavors, and it is said to relieve distress suffered by any helpless person in the household.
