Govardhan Puja

Celebrated on the bright first of Kartik, the day after Diwali — in remembrance of Krishna lifting Mount Govardhan to shield the people of Vrindavan from Indra's wrath. A mountain of food (annakut) is arranged and offered to the Lord on this day.
