Hanuman Jayanti

Celebrated on the full moon of the bright fortnight of Chaitra as the birth anniversary of Hanuman (the Purnima tithi runs from sunrise on April 2 to morning of April 3). Devotees visit Hanuman temples at sunrise to recite the Hanuman Chalisa and offer special worship — Hanuman is believed to have been born at the moment of sunrise.
