Vijaya Dashami

The conclusion of Durga Puja — the goddess is immersed on this day. The customs of Sindoor Khela, immersion of the idol, and exchanging Vijaya greetings are followed. Note: some sources give the pan-India Vijayadashami/Dussehra date as October 20 this year — this one-day difference from Bengal's Bijoya Dashami is a real, documented example of the difference between the Bengali (Surya Siddhanta) and general Indian (Drik Siddhanta) calculation traditions.
