Nirjala Ekadashi

Falls on the bright eleventh of Jyeshtha, also known as Bhimseni Ekadashi. According to the Mahabharata, Bhima gained the merit of observing all the year's Ekadashis through this single day's Nirjala (waterless) fast, as mentioned in the Brahmavaivarta Purana. This is the most strictly observed Ekadashi vrata of the year.
